Midtown High School Swim and Dive

 Here are some dates to know: 

• Interest meeting: September 16, 3:40-4:00pm in E-206
• Swim tryouts: October 5-6, 2026
• Dive tryouts: October 7, 2026
• Practice start date: October 7, 2026
• Last day of regular season: January 25, 2027
• State meet: January 30, 2027 (Dive), February 5, 2027 (Swim Prelims), February 6, 2027 (Swim Finals)

You must have an updated physical uploaded into Rank One. Athletes who have swam a state cut time since March can be exempt from tryouts by emailing [email protected]. Times converted from meters to yards are acceptable.

Swimtopia

• We will use Swimtopia for team management activities like meet entries, declaring for meets, time tracking, scoring, etc.
• Registration will occur after the team roster is posted.

Practice Schedule

There will be a bus to AND from swim practice at King Middle on Mondays and Wednesdays, dive athletes are welcome to ride the bus to practice and get there early but will need a ride from practice. Bus transportation will only be offered to practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with athletes needing to be picked up from King Middle. 

Swim

• Monday: 7:30-9:00pm
• Tuesday: 7:30-9:00pm
• Wednesday: 6:30-8:00pm
• Thursday: 6:30-8:00pm

Dive

• Wednesday: 7:45-9:00pm
• Thursday: 7:45-9:00pm

**The McCallie Invitational is in Chattanooga, TN. We will only be taking up to 20 swimmers. Swimmers will be selected based on times from tryouts and notified when the team roster is finalized and posted. 

Coach Information

Emily Dohogne

After serving as the swim and dive sponsor for the 2022-23 season, Emily Dohogne rejoined the coaching staff for the 2024-25 dive season. This year, Coach Dohogne will serve as a head coach for both the swim and dive teams, supporting our team and expert coaches. With a baby and toddler at home, this 2026-27 season will be her last year coaching.

George Kimbrough

Coach George is excited to be a swim head coach Midtown Swim and Dive staff this season after joining us last season! He first jumped in the pool when he was 4 years old and grew up swimming competitively at Woodward Academy and Swim Atlanta. He is also the coach of a summer league team.

Ginny Scott

Coach Ginny has been swimming since she was 5. Growing up, she swam year-round at SwimAtlanta as well as Blessed Trinity (high school). She has been the head coach for several summer league teams as well as the Garden Hills Adult team (3x state champs).

Zeke Alejandro

Coach Zeke brings over 30 years of experience in 1-meter, 3-meter, and 10-meter platform diving at the high school, collegiate, and international levels. As an NCAA Division II 3-meter springboard National Champion, he also coached the Arizona boys High School diving champion to victory in 2000. Coach Zeke is excited to join the Midtown team and is eager to help all divers reach their personal bests.
